Jeddy Brown (Fossil)
Jeddy Brown is listed in the 1891 state directory as being a photographer in Fossil. The March 4th 1891 Fossil Journal noted “Married – on Wednesday, February 25th, at the Fossil hotel, Jeddy Brown, photographer, to Maggie, eldest daughter of W. W. Kennedy, merchant, Condon, Or.” I have never seen a print that was imprinted with his name, and the large numbers of unmarked photographs of Fossil suggests that many of these are probably made by Jeddy Brown. His studio interior had a large scenic backdrop. He also took large scenes outdoors on a 6 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ view camera. He produced a double-wide panoramic birds-eye view of Fossil.
