1901: “Pickel, the photographer, has just received a large assortment of photo jewelry. Call and see him if you want something very nice and attractive.” The Independence west side, August 1, 1901, pg. 3, col. 3.

1901: “E. Pickel, the photographer is having an addition built to his photograph gallery. The patronage of Mr. Pickel’s gallery has increased so rapidly of late that he has found it impossible to do all the work in the limited amount of space afforded by his car.
